Day 7 Athens 2004 -08-19-04

Another beautiful day in Greece!  We headed out to the beach this morning and performed on the street right next to the beach and drew a nice crowd as we performed and then went to share with people.  Lucas and I got a chance to share with 2 younger boys and a Father.  One of the boys spoke ok English and the other boy did not speak English at all and the Father spoke really good English.  The Father was a kind of translator for us as we shared with the boys.  We talked with them a while and then share about why we came.  We shared with them that all people need Jesus and they were in agreement with that.  I also shared my life with the Father a little bit and told him that Jesus is the one who gives purpose to my life.  And then we played a little "football" (soccer) on the street with the two boys. That was a blast! As we traveled back into Athens from the beach we had different opportunities to share with people.  Amy had a chance to share with a Japanese man and she instantly connected with him because she knows a little Japanese from ministering to Japanese girls when she was in College.  She talked with him for a little while and gave him an Olympic Gospel track and a card about the local church.  Others had similar experiences. Once we returned to Athens we had a performance at the local church again and then on a street location.  Both places went well and we had a chance again to share with different people about Jesus.  One time I got to share with two teenage boys on the street who professed to believe in Jesus.  I share with them that Jesus needs to be real in all that you do and don't be ashamed to profess your faith in Jesus.  I felt like I was able to encourage them to live more for God and never give into the world that wants to pull them away from God.  It was a good conversation .  There is a photo of me with these two boys towards the bottom of the photos (the ones with clothes on, not just swimming suites).  Another person that I have been sharing my life with is a guy who works at the Internet Cafe,  whose name is Manolis.  He is a nice guy and every time I have come to the Internet Cafe (which is every night) I talked with him a little bit more and more.  We have really connected...  Manolis is not a really out going guy but is willing to talk with me.  I am praying that God uses me in his life to show Jesus is real and that would change his life! Also, please continue to pray that we all will be able to connect with more people after each of our performances.  It is sometimes hard to really have good conversations with people.  But I know God is working through us every time we step out in this city for HIS Glory to be shown to the nations!
