It is the last day of performances and I
am kind of sad… I really enjoyed my time in Greece and sharing my life with
Greek people. I have seen God work through me and in me so much. It was so
AWESOME! I am looking forward to performing a couple more times today. I am
just going to shout the freedom that God has given me through Christ in each
performance today. And the freedom of God I have been given means so much
more now since I have realized more of God’s love, grace, and patience in my
life on this trip. “Go with God” is the word I am hearing more and more from
the Lord. Galatians 6:9 is a verse that is on my heart even more now… “So
don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for
we will reap a harvest of blessing at the APPROPRIATE time." I am
embracing the love of God more and releasing my control and allowing Jesus to
be all in me and through me…
We performed at the local church again… It
was a good performance but not many people were there but it was good to
perform their one last time. Next we went to the big street stage and
performed… After that performance I went up to an young Greek man and shared
with him briefly what God means to me and I listen to what God means to him.
He was open to talk with me but did not want to admit Jesus is the one who can
help him or free him from the things in his life. It was good and I just
prayed and blessed that man… His name was Yannis or John in English. After
that we walked over to a street performance (also known as a cool spot to give
our free water) and performed a couple of sets along with Jon Penn doing a
singing set. We got to connect with a few people after that street
performance… I talked with another Yannis that was there as a volunteer with
the Olympics who I have seen a couple of times when have performed at this
venue. I decided to talk with him and we had a brief talk about God and what
Jesus means to him. However, he was a man that has decided that he doesn’t
want God involved in his life. He said he does not like what he sees in the
Greek Orthodox Church (Priests have money and power and they do not show love
to the people). I have heard that from many people I would approach to share
Christ with is that Greek people don’t want God because they do not see God in
the church. And the Greek people see church as a religion and traditions not
a place to commune with God and loving God through relationship. My prayer is
that the Greek people would be free from religion dive into a relationship
with Jesus!! I want to sing and shout FREEDOM over the nation of Greece!!
